What is Equimetry?
Horses can't talk, but we can still listen to them. And modern technology makes it easy to spot the subtle signs that otherwise only a "horse whisperer" might notice.
Each horse is a unique individual and by knowing how it differs from the herd we can give it the care and challenges it needs to reach its full potential.
How does it work?
Multimodal: a saddle-mounted device collects three sorts of data:
- instantaneous data: stride cadence and length, etc.
- physiological data: heart rate, etc.
- session data: GPS track, etc.
This integrated system gathers information that can be used during a training session or reviewed on a computer afterwards — from anywhere over the internet.
Why use Equimetry?
for caring owners and trainers who know each horse is unique, Equimetry:
- avoids guesswork by tailoring training to the horse's needs
- allows a feeding program calibrated to the horse's exercise
- shows how fatigued the horse may be at any time
- shows how nervous the horse may be with changes in routine
for busy owners and trainers who need to maximize their limited time with their horses, Equimetry:
- anticipates possible injury and minimizes or avoids recovery time
- allows training to be programmed to maximize effectiveness
- verifies the quality and quantity of training, even over the internet
- screens prospects quickly
for competitors who need to gauge and precisely maintain their horse's level of effort, Equimetry:
- rapidly and accurately records vital signs
- verifies that one is maintaining the desired pace over a course
- records in detail performance over a course for later review
- gathers multiple dimensions of information with a single device
